Bythynnod Bryn Gollen

Are you dreaming of pressing pause on the busy day-to-day and simply enjoying time with the people (and pets!) who matter most? At Bythynnod Bryn Gollen, we welcome families to slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories while exploring the beauty of Anglesey. Whether it’s sandy toes, windswept hair, or cosy evenings back at the cottage, we want your holiday to feel effortless and joy-filled.

Owners of the Holiday Cottages

Our Story

Our story began in Manchester, where work kept us tied to city life. But the sea was always calling — we loved windsurfing, beach days, and the feeling of freedom the coast gave us. When work changes meant we no longer had to stay in the city, my husband suggested moving to Anglesey. It felt like the perfect fresh start.

We found our home here, complete with two old outbuildings that we dreamed of turning into holiday cottages. With planning permission granted, we got to work converting them into Bwthyn Pili Pala and Bwthyn Cerrig. Covid arrived partway through the project, but since the buildings were separate from our house, we were able to carry on. We decorated every corner ourselves and finally opened in summer 2020. Despite a few closures along the way, we’ve been welcoming guests ever since — and we couldn’t imagine life anywhere else

Since opening, we’ve been lucky to host so many wonderful families (and their four-legged friends). Guests often tell us how spotless and homely the cottages feel, and how easy it is to relax here. Many families return again and again, which is the best compliment we could ask for.

We’re a family who loves the outdoors, the sea, and this beautiful island. You’ll usually find us on the beach at least once a week — it’s our happy place. We live here year-round, exploring new corners of Anglesey and sampling its many delicious restaurants, so we’re always ready with recommendations to make your stay extra special.

Our mission is simple: to offer families a peaceful escape where everyone feels welcome, from toddlers to teenagers to tail-wagging companions. At Bythynnod Bryn Gollen, we believe in slowing down, enjoying nature, and creating the kind of family memories that last a lifetime.

🌊 A Few Things About Us

My Happy Place Is in the Sea

I’ve always loved being out on the water — whether that’s wing foiling, bodyboarding, or just floating in the waves. Being in the sea is where I feel most alive, and I love sharing that joy with my family.

A Family Who Lives by the Tide

We try to get to the beach every single week — and with so many to choose from here on Anglesey, it never gets old. Each trip brings something new, whether it’s a sandcastle, a sunset, or a salty-haired smile.

Traeth yr Ora — Our Secret Escape

One of my favourite places is Traeth yr Ora, a quiet little beach you can only reach by foot. It’s where we go when we want peace, quiet, and that special feeling of being truly away from it all.

Crabs, Caves, and Curious Little Explorers

My daughter is our chief beach adventurer — no walk is complete without peeking into rock pools or hunting for crabs and caves. Seeing the coast through her eyes reminds me what family time is all about.
